Tala to all mermaids! I never forgot Second Life, as well as mermaids virtual way of life :-)

Tala a tutte le sirene! Non ho mai dimenticato Second Life, così come lo “stile di vita” sirenesco!

Mermaid Lake was always on my mind, together with all things this place remind me. That’s why, after leaving Al-bahr sim, I took my time and finally decided to buy a mainland lot and create a new mermaid place. I choose Darkover sim, a waterfront parcel with great views, especially at sunset!

Mermaid Lke è sempre rimasta nella mia mente, insieme a tutti i ricordi di questo posto. Per questa ragione, dopo avere lasciato a malincuore la sim di Al –Bahr, mi sono presa un po’ di tempo per decidere alla fine di tornare e prendere un lotto di mainland per creare un nuovo posto per sirene. Ho scelto Darkover, in una zona di fronte a una sim d’acqua protetta, con un bellissimo panorama, soprattutto al tramonto!

The commercial area is practically a small spot on the beach. There, you can find cheap mermaid tails and tops, and a lot of freebies by Manuela Collas.

The first Mermaid Fashion Show by 3star!

On the 24th of May, at Nuova Sicilia 4, Manuela Collas presented the first Mermaid Fashion Show! The fashionist of the 3star Tyne, one of the greatest SL fashion experts and my beloved friend!

I was so proud to introduce her Mermaid Goddess Fashion Show, a very peculiar mermaid outfit collection inspired to the rl ancient goddesses all around the world.
She created her own avatar 3 years ago and is specialized in fantasy outfits such as fairies and vampyres, mermaid tails and asian skins.
Her shops can be find easily in her profile picks.
Our wonderful models!
1. First of all, Inanna: Ellowyn Akina
Inanna is the most important goddess of the Sumerian pantheon in ancient Mesopotamia. She is a goddess of love, fertility, and war. Inanna figures prominently in various myths, such as 'Inanna's descent to the underworld'. In this particular myth she travels to the realm of the dead and claims its ruling.
2. And Now Oshun: Akasha Wachmann
Oshun, the Yoruban Goddess of love, delights in the creation of beauty and art, sensual delights and self-adornment. Her symbols are mirrors, jewelry, honey, golden silks and feather fans. Creativity in decorating home and temple is a way of honoring Oshun, who will bless any beautiful space created in Her honor. There is no object so common that Oshun will not appreciate more if it is made artistic and pleasing to the eye.
3. And Now Isis: Greylyn Ember
Isis Mother of Egypt! Isis, as mother of Horus, was by extension regarded as the mother and protectress of the pharaoh's. She was worshipped as the divine mother-goddess, faithful consort of Osiris, and dedicated mother of Horus.
4. And Now Hecate: Toya Watanabee
Hecate is the Greek goddess of the crossroads. She is most often depicted as having three heads; one of a dog, one of a snake and one of a horse. She is usually seen with two ghost hounds that were said to serve her. Hecate is most often mispercepted as the goddess of witchcraft or evil, but she did some very good things in her time.
5. And Now Eris: Lilianna Whitfield
Eris Goddess of Chaos! Eris is the Greek goddess of discord and strife. Eris is sinister and mean, and her greatest joy is to make trouble. She has a golden apple that is so bright and shiny everybody wants to have it. When she throws it among friends, their friendship come to a rapid end. When she throws it among enemies, war breaks out, for the golden apple of Eris is the Apple of Discord.
6. And Now Aphrodite: Katty Fizzle
Aphrodite, in Greek mythology, the goddess of love and beauty and the counterpart of the Roman goddess Venus. In Homeric legend she is said to be the daughter of Zeus and Dione, one of Zeus's consorts, but in the Theogony of Hesiod she is described as having sprung from the foam of the sea.
7. And Now Kway Yin: MeiXing Yu
Kwan Yin, Mother of Compassion in ancient Chinese culture, floats gently onto the stage, and should be welcomed as an eternal source of comfort and peace. Kwan Yin's values are about co-operation, sharing, balance, harmony and partnership; she is highly sensitive and aware.
8. And finally Gaia: Phoenix Bright
Gaia is believed by some sources to be the original deity behind the Oracle at Delphi. She passed her powers on to, depending on the source, Poseidon, Apollo or Themis. Gaia represents the earth, fertility and eternal love.

It was the first mermaid place I met during my first days in Second Life. And I still love it! The land owner's name is Myradyl Muse, and she created the merpalace and underwater sanctuary. She's really great!
Inside the palace you'll find touchable paintings that will give you some notecards with her poems, very romantic and artistic.

Myradyl is a powerful builder indeed, she's been in SL for four years and I hope to reach her skillness level sooner or later!
Visiting her land is like a treasure hunt: there's a lot to discover, from the highest sky to the deepest sea, and all her buildings are fabulous with a special touch of style.

The water area is impressive, there, it's like to live in the myth, and it makes you feel proud of being a mermaid!
And finally, this is the underwater merpalace, a real masterpiece of mermaid art!
I've asked Myradyl an interview to talk a little about her, her "mermishness" and this wonderful place.
I hope she'll answer soon, and I'll publish my interview with her on this blog.

A new mermaid role play is opening!

Hi to All! As an ex queen of a mermaid group, I'm very very happy to inform you about a new mermaid role play which will open very soon!

It's called KINGDOM OF LUMINDOR

The Mermaid Palace is under a cave, entrance is hidden by waterfalls. As you can see in the pics, it is fabulous!

There will be mermaid shops and 4 rental apartments available. Opps, only 3, I rented one last night :D

~~~MERS OF LUMINDOR~~~
BACKGROUND STORY OF LUMINDOR MER
Created from the tear of the Empress of the Gods, Arrna was born to become the Goddess of the Sea and charged with bringing the seas of Lumindor back to their original glory in the beginning of times. Upon seeing the devastation to the waters caused by the humans and other inhabitants of Lumindor, originally cast to be the seas' stewards by the gods, Arrna knew that she would need help. So she dripped her fingers in the currents and began to sing a lovely song, bringing forth from her fingertips what came to be known as mers, created in Arrna's image but having the fins of fish.
The original mers created by Arrna would be the ancestors of the present royal mer family in Lumindor. The royal mer family is entrusted with populating the seas of Lumindor with other mer and helping to sow the seeds of life under the beautiful waters.
So that the mer would not forget their goddess, Arrna used her powers to change occasionally to a mer form and swim among them. Her watchful eye is always on her beloved mer. In this way, the Goddess is never far from her blessed creations and can hear their plights.
MER SOCIETY OF LUMINDOR
The mer society in Lumindor is governed by the royal mer family. All mer show respect to the royal mer family and show absolute devotion and praise to their creator, the Goddess of the Sea. With dedicated service, mer citizens can earn higher roles such as knights and mages through battle. At all times, mers must show kindness towards each other because the inhabitants of the lands could pose a threat to the mer people and the seas they are entrusted to protect.
ROLES IN MER GROUP:
Goddess of the Sea -- Arrna Silverstar

Mer Queen -- Reina Beleza

Mer Princess -- Mahala Peccable

Mer General -- Tormento Sansome

Mer Knight -- (awarded based on service)

**Mer Mage -- (awarded based on service)

**Mer of Lumindor -- All other mer citizens

Mer Sea Creatures -- All other sea creatures

**These positions are given based on the activity of the person in the group's roleplay. The more you contribute to the roleplay, the more likely you will receive a title. HOWEVER, if you receive a title and disappear for a long time, you will be stripped of your title. Our group can only survive if we are active and contributing to the roleplay in the greater kingdom.
MER RP BASICS
1. Show respect to and obey the mer royal family and the Goddess of the Sea.
2. Be kind to each other. If there is a dispute between mer, it shall be settled by the Goddess of the Sea. If there is a dispute between mer and another group, consult the Mer General or the royal family.
3. Stay in character (IC) at all times. If you speak out of character (OOC), then put your text in (( )) or talk in private ims. Try to remain IC at all times while in Lumindor.
4. Please wear the meter at all times while playing in Lumindor. You can get meters at the entrance of Lumindor or send an im to Arrna Silverstar. If you do not wish to fight, then tell the person attacking you in private im. No one can kill you in Lumindor without your permission, but at least let them wound you severely and then swim away to heal.
5. Mers in Lumindor can grow legs at any time that they desire and walk on the land. Please grow legs sparingly. It is better to see mer swimming and not walking around all the time. MER CANNOT FLY!
6. All sea creatures are welcome into the group and mer should show the same respect to these creatures that mer show each other.
7. Place a brief description of your mers' history in your profile picks.
If you have additional questions concerning roleplay basics or mer specific questions, please send an im to Reina Beleza or Arrna Silverstar.
**ATTENTION** All Mer must read and follow the main rules of Lumindor!!!􀀁
MER PALACE (GROUP HEADQUARTERS) RULES
The mer palace is our headquarters and sanctuary from the other groups in the kingdom. Other people in the sim must be formally invited by a mer before entering and must be escorted by a mer at all times!
If you need to rez an object in the mer palace for roleplay, you may do so but take it with you before you leave the palace. Every prim we use costs money!
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP FEE
Our lovely palace comes at a price and we expect everyone in the group to contribute their fair share to our monthly rent costs. We will try to keep the costs per member as low as possible.
The monthly membership fee will be assessed at the beginning of the month. After the notice is sent, each mer has one week to pay the fee. If a mer is not paying his or her membership fee, this behavior could result in banishment from the group.
Any additional lindens left over from the monthly membership fee will go towards group expansion projects, equiping our military, and our group's mandatory monthly sim-wide event.

ABOUT GODDESS OF THE SEA

For many years, the empreror and empress of the gods lay dormant, pleased at their creation, the Lands of Lumindor. However, their peace was awoken as they peered down from the heavens one day to find that there perfect creation had been miskept by the very humans and creatures left to tend to it. Upon seeing the especially insulting destruction to her carefully planned seas, the great empress of the gods shed a sorrowful tear that fell to the mortal world, touching the seas she valued so dearly. As the pure water from her hit the surface of the sea, it formed a goddess whom the empress named Arrna. The empress, seeing now that the humans could not tend to it, entrusted in Arrna the protection of Lumindor's waters as her Goddess of the Sea.
As one of the youngest of the gods, Arrna still maintains an innocence and inquisitive nature concerning the Lands of Lumindor, but despite her pleasant interactions with the mortals of the land, she holds great sorrow in her heart, the same sorrow that caused her creation. But being so young, Arrna still feels there is redemption for the mortals of Lumindor and constantly defends them in the halls of the gods, despite her lower place in the pantheon. Because of this, Arrna's task to the gods also concerns consultation given the close connection she has to the empress.
